Library Rules and Expectations

The LMC belongs to the entire school community, so let’s all do our part to keep it a friendly and educational environment.
Borrowing Materials:

Students must provide their student ID# to borrow library materials.

To renew materials, a student must stop in the LMC and provide their student ID# and the name of the title to be renewed. If a student has an extended absence for any reason when materials need to be returned, a student must email the Mrs. McCay (amccay@bhprsd.org) or class principal to request a renewal or have materials returned to the main office.

LMC materials are checked out to students for a three week period.

Students may renew materials a maximum of two times.

Students may have up to four books checked out at a time.

Periodicals are for in-library use only.

Reference material may checked out for one day only.
Fines:

Students are notified when books are due upon check-out.

A written notice will be sent to the student in English class when a student has missed the return date.

Though there are no fines for overdue books, if a book is lost the student must pay a fine for its replacement.

Students who have outstanding material fines may have extracurricular and borrowing privileges suspended.
LMC Etiquette:
- Please note we are open from 7:20am until 2:40pm any day the building is open to students. The LMC may close throughout the day for classes or lunch. No student should be in the LMC without staff supervision.
- Students must present a written pass from their scheduled teacher when coming to the LMC during class or study hall.
- Students must SIGN IN and SIGN OUT on the LMC TURNSTILE each visit.
- Respect each other and avoid distracting or disrupting your fellow Tartans in the LMC.
- Respect for SELF

- Respect for others
- If you need to leave the LMC, you must obtain permission and a pass. If you are leaving for the bathroom, you must leave your cell phone in the LMC cell pouch.
- Electronic devices (cell phones and Chromebooks) should NOT be heard.
- Please clean up after yourself and put any trash in the waste baskets.
LMC Computer Lab:
- There are 4 Windows PCs available for student use in the LMC. Students must use their Chromebook credentials to log into an LMC lab computer.
- Absolutely NO food or drink is permitted in the lab area.
- Students are able to print school-related assignments to the LMC printer. See Mrs. McCay for assistance.
